01. Quality Improvement (QI). Audit findings may lead to quality improvement (QI) activities, which consist of the Department and providers working to resolve identified issues and enhance services provided including consultation, technical assistance, and recommendations. If deficiencies are not resolved, corrective action occurs. (7-1-26) 02. Corrective Action. A formal process to address significant or unresolved deficiencies identified during the review process that includes issuance of a corrective action plan, reporting to Medicaid Program Integrity Unit, or termination of a provider agreement. (7-1-26) 03. Abuse, Fraud, or Substandard Care. Suspected abuse, fraud, or substandard care is referred to the Department and other applicable agencies.
