Policy

It is the policy of the Idaho Board of Environmental Quality through the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality , to administer the Wastewater Loan Fund for the purpose of protecting and enhancing the quality and value of th e water resources of the state of Idaho by financially assisting in the prevention, control and abatement of water pollution and the Drinking Water Loan Fund for the purpose of providing assistance to eligible public drinking wate r systems for the planning, design, and construction of facilities to ensure safe and adequate drinking water. It is als o the intent of the Idaho Board of Environmental Quality to assign a priority rating to those projects that will mos t significantly improve the quality of the waters of the state and most adequately protect the public health.
