Closure – Technical Requirements

Section 601.310  Closure – Technical Requirements a)         The licensee shall close the facility at the end of its operating lifetime. b)         Not more than 2 years nor less than one year prior to anticipated facility closure, the licensee shall submit an application to the Agency in accordance with Section 601.300(a) for a license amendment to close the facility. c)         Upon granting of the license amendment, the licensee shall close the facility in accordance with the closure plan and the license conditions imposed. d)         Within 6 months after completing facility closure, the licensee shall certify in writing to the Agency that the facility has been closed in accordance with the requirements of this Part.
