Section 1422
Section 1422.126Â Sharps
Sharps may not be disposed of in
a landfill unless they have been treated to eliminate the infectious potential
and:
a)Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Have been rendered unrecognizable and therefore are no longer
PIMW; or
b)Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Have been:
1)Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Packaged, marked, and labeled in compliance with 35 Ill. Adm.
Code 1421.Subparts C and D;
2)Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Delivered by a transporter with a PIMW hauling permit as
required by 35 Ill. Adm. Code 1420.105, unless specifically exempted; and
3)Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Accompanied by a PIMW manifest as required by 35 Ill. Adm.
Code 1420.105, unless specifically exempted.
