Nutrient Loading

Section 391 Section 391.410  Nutrient Loading Sludge utilization permit applications must include agronomic calculations which specify the application rates (dry tons per acre) to be utilized by sludge users.  Unless site specific information on crop yields is available, the applicants must use the average county crop yields shown in APPENDIX C in conjunction with the fertilizer requirements specified in APPENDIX B.  The applicant must determine whether the sludge application site is to be used on a short term (<5 years) or long term (>5 years) period and calculate the necessary nitrogen or phosphorus agronomic rate.  The applicants shall use Sections 391.411, 391.412 and 391.413 for determining the nutrient loading.
