Section 616.302Â Closure
Performance Standard
The owner or operator must close
the unit in a manner that:
a)Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Controls, minimizes, or eliminates, to the extent necessary to
protect human health and the environment, post-closure escape of waste, waste
constituents, leachate, contaminated runoff, or waste decomposition products to
soils, groundwaters, surface waters, or the atmosphere;
b)Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Minimizes the need for maintenance during and beyond the
post-closure care period; and
c)Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Complies with the closure requirements of 35 Ill. Adm. Code:Â
Subtitles C and G.
