Containers Used for Disposal of Exempted Waste

Section 726 Section 726.440  Containers Used for Disposal of Exempted Waste A generator's exempted waste must be placed in containers before it is disposed of.  The container must be one of the following: a)         A carbon steel drum; b)         An alternative container with equivalent containment performance in the disposal environment as a carbon steel drum; or c)         A high-integrity container, as defined by NRC in appendix G to 10 CFR 20 (Requirements for Transfers of Low-Level Radioactive Waste Intended for Disposal at Licensed Land Disposal Facilities and Manifests), incorporated by reference in 35 Ill. Adm. Code 720.111(b).
