Coordination Among and by State Agencies

Section 750 Section 750.201  Coordination Among and by State Agencies a)         IEPA should coordinate planning and response action with affected State and Federal agencies and local government and private entities. b)         State agencies with facilities or other resources which may be useful in a State response situation should make those facilities or resources available consistent with agency capabilities and authorities. c)         When the Director of the IEPA determines that there may be an imminent and substantial endangerment to the public health or welfare or the environment because of a release or threatened release of a hazardous substance, from a facility, he/she may request the Illinois Attorney General to secure the relief necessary to abate the threat.  The action described here is in addition to any actions taken by a Federal agency or local government for the same purpose. d)         Where appropriate, discharges of radioactive materials shall be handled pursuant to the appropriate State and/ or federal radiological plans.
