Section 205 Section 205.1710  General a)         All material including equipment, conductors, controls, and signaling devices shall be installed to provide a complete electrical system with the necessary characteristics and capacity to supply the required electrical facilities.  All materials shall be listed as complying with available standards of Underwriters' Laboratories, Inc., or other similarly established standards. b)         All electrical installations and systems shall be tested to show that the equipment is installed and operates as required.  A written record of performance tests on special electrical systems and equipment shall be supplied to the owner.  Such tests shall show compliance with the governing codes and shall include grounding continuity and alarm systems.
