Section 225.3020Â Resident
Care and Treatment Services
a)
The Alzheimer's Disease Management Center shall treat
behavioral problems and mood disorders using nonpharmacologic approaches such
as:
1)
environmental modification;
2)
task simplification; and
3)
other appropriate activities.

b)
The Center shall provide education and support for
residents and caregivers. The education and support shall include referrals to
support organizations for educational materials on community resources, support
groups, legal and financial issues, respite care, and future care needs and
options.

c)
The education and support
required by subsection (b) of
this Section
shall also include a discussion of the resident's need to make
advance directives and to identify surrogates for medical and legal decision
making.

d)Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â The facility shall provide access to appropriate emergency and
specialty medical services. A care manager shall be designated for each
resident. A care manager may serve one or more residents. The provision of
services for each resident shall be organized through the care manager, who
shall:
1)Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Assume responsibility for implementation of the care plan;
2)Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Assist the resident in becoming oriented to his/her program;
3)Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Enable the program to proceed in an orderly, purposeful, and
goal-oriented manner;
4)Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Promote the program's responsiveness to the needs and
preferences of the resident;
5)Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Participate consistently in care team conferences concerning
the resident; and
6)Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Maintain communication with family members, resident
representative (if designated), and funding source of the resident.
e)Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â The licensee shall provide adequate auxiliary and support
services to meet each resident's comprehensive care plan.
f)Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â The facility shall provide other services as necessary to
implement and support the resident's comprehensive care plan and overall needs,
including provisions for:
1)Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Case management;
2)Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Fostering resident independence;
3)Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Protection of resident rights, privacy and dignity; and
4)Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Assisting the resident and resident's representative in
understanding and adjusting to the resident's current condition, prognosis and
future needs.
g)Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Services shall be delivered in the least restrictive or
intrusive manner.
