Infection Control
Section 330.790Â Infection Control
a)Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Policies
and procedures for investigating, controlling, and preventing infections in the
facility shall be established and followed. The policies and procedures shall
be consistent with and include the requirements of the Control of Communicable
Diseases Code and Control of Sexually Transmissible Infections Code.Â
Activities shall be monitored to ensure that these policies and procedures are
followed.
b)Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â A
group, e.g., an infection control committee, quality assurance committee, or
other facility entity, shall periodically review the results of investigations
and activities to control infections.
c)Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Depending
on the services provided by the facility, each facility shall adhere to the
following guidelines of the Center for Infectious Diseases, Centers for Disease
Control and Prevention, United States Public Health Service, Department of
Health and Human Services, as applicable (see Section 330.340):

facility shall establish an infection prevention and control program (IPCP)
that shall include, at a minimum, an antibiotic stewardship program that
includes antibiotic use protocols and a system to monitor antibiotic use.
