Rehabilitation Services Aide Training Program
The Psychiatric Rehabilitation
Services Aide Training Program shall include, at a minimum, the following:
a)Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Module I - Introduction to Mental Illness and Psychiatric
Rehabilitation
1)Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Mental illness diagnoses and the stress vulnerability model;
2)Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Disabilities that result from mental illness;
3)Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Medication in the treatment of mental illness;
4)Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â The impact of stigma;
5)Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Recovery, empowerment, and self-help;
6)Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â The role of the family;
7)Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Skills training strategies;
8)Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Strategies for engaging residents in rehabilitation;
9)Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Substance use/abuse issues;
10)Â Â Â Â Â Â Vocational rehabilitation;
11)Â Â Â Â Â Â The mental health system:Â laws and policies; and
12)Â Â Â Â Â Â Community programs and resources:Â access and collaboration.
