Proof of Dependency

Section 1540 Section 1540.150  Proof of Dependency In consideration of the payment of an occupational death benefit, survivors annuity or reversionary annuity, person or persons claiming such benefits as a dependent shall submit acceptable proof to the Board that the member was contributing at least one-half of the dependent's support at the time of the member's death, or in the case of a reversionary annuity, at the time of retirement.  A copy of the deceased member's income tax filing for the year of event claiming the person as a dependent shall be accepted as proof of dependency. For the reversionary annuity, a spouse will be deemed to be a dependent of the member.
