Section 551 Section 551.110  Commission Order in Proceedings The Commission shall issue an order granting or denying an application within 45 days after the date on which a complete application has been filed with the Commission and notice of the application's filing is published in the Official State Newspaper as provided by the Notice of Publication Act [715 ILCS 5], provided that the Commission can extend the time for considering an application filed under this Part by up to 90 days, and can schedule a hearing on such an application. The Commission shall extend the time for considering an application and schedule a hearing if: a)         The applicant has proposed limitations on the number of residential or small commercial customers or the amount of load to be served; b)         A party to the application proceeding has formally requested that the Commission hold hearings in a pleading that contains a verified prima facie showing that one or more of the allegations or certifications in the application is false or misleading; c)         Other facts or circumstances exist that will necessitate additional time or evidence in order to determine whether a certificate should be issued; or d)         The applicant has proposed to serve an area smaller than the service area of a gas utility.
