Penalties

Section 140.1320  Penalties a)         The Department may recover a civil penalty in an amount not to exceed $2,000 for each benefit or payment received, in addition to any other penalties provided by law. b)         A written notice of penalty assessment shall be sent to the person against whom the penalty is to be assessed.  Each notice of penalty assessment shall include: 1)         the amount of the penalty being assessed; 2)         a description of the circumstances that led to the assessment of the penalty; and 3)         a citation to the provision of the Act or the rule the person has violated.
