Legislative Mandate

Section 750 Section 750.10  Legislative Mandate The Illinois Department of Human Services-Division of Rehabilitation Services (DHS-DRS) has the legislative mandate to operate residential educational facilities for children whoare deaf or hard of hearing, blind or visually impaired and/or severely physically disabled.  The State Schools (Schools) operated by DHS-DRS are: a)         the Illinois School for the Deaf (ISD), 125 Webster Street, Jacksonville; b)         the Illinois School for the Visually Impaired (ISVI), 658 East State Street, Jacksonville; and c)         the Illinois Center for Rehabilitation and Education (ICRE-R) − Roosevelt, 1950 West Roosevelt Road, Chicago.
