Section 290.210 Thoroughbred
Stallion Owners Awards
a) Thoroughbred stallion owners awards are limited to the sires
of registered Illinois conceived and foaled horses that were conceived before
May 30, 1995.
b) The owner of a thoroughbred stallion is eligible to
participate in the stallion owners awards program by:
1) Qualifying foal must be registered as an Illinois conceived
and foaled thoroughbred with the Illinois Department of Agriculture.
2) Qualifying foal must win a race other than a claiming race at
a pari-mutuel track in Illinois.
3) Stallion must not stand or be offered for service outside the
State of Illinois during the calendar year in which the qualified foal wins an
eligible race.
c) The stallion owner is defined as the owner of record of the
stallion at the time of conception of the qualifying horse. Stallion owners
awards will be paid to such owners.
