Backtagging

Section 40 Section 40.130  Backtagging All cattle over 2 years of age consigned to a livestock auction market shall comply with the Market Cattle Identification Program as follows: a)         Each animal shall be backtagged with an official Illinois market cattle backtag. b)         Cattle that are blood tested for brucellosis by the livestock auction market veterinarian shall have the backtag marked through with a crayon or paint. c)         Report of such backtagging on forms provided by the United States Department of Agriculture shall be submitted to the Department within 7 days of backtag application.
