Notification to Law Enforcement Prior to Repossession

Section 1480.415  Notification to Law Enforcement Prior to Repossession a) Prior to a repossession, the licensed repossession agency or repossession agency employee shall notify the appropriate law enforcement agency located in the jurisdiction in which the licensed repossession agency or repossession agency employee plans to perform the repossession. [225 ILCS 422/105] b)         The following information shall be provided as part of the notification: 1)         Name of the repossession agency; 2)         License number of the repossession agency; 3)         Color, make, model, vehicle identification number (VIN) if applicable, serial number if applicable, and a general description of collateral to be repossessed. c)         Acceptable notification shall be made by the means of a phone, fax, email or other electronic communication.
