Disabled Vehicles

Section 554 Section 554.807  Disabled Vehicles Limited continuous operation permits may be issued for the movement of oversize/overweight vehicles and combinations from disablement sites (see Section 15-301(n) of the Code), provided: a)         No single axle within a tandem exceeds 26,000 pounds. b)         No two axle tandem exceeds 50,000 pounds. c)         No three axle tandem exceeds 60,000 pounds. d)         The overall dimensions do not exceed 10 feet in width, 13 feet 6 inches in height and 115 feet in length and the overall height does not exceed 13 feet 6 inches. (NOTE: One civilian escort is required for loads that exceed 110 feet in length.) e)         Permitted movement is from disablement site to a point where repairs are actually to occur.
