(410 ILCS 18/70) (Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2029) Sec. 70. Employment of funeral director by crematory authority. (a) A crematory authority shall be permitted to enter into a contract with a funeral director or funeral business for the purpose of arranging cremations on an at-need basis with the general public, transporting human remains to the crematory, and processing all necessary paperwork. (b) No aspect of this Act shall be construed to require a licensed funeral director to perform any functions not otherwise required by law to be performed by a licensed funeral director.
