Section 5-1

(625 ILCS 45/5-1) (from Ch. 95 1/2, par. 315-1) Sec. 5-1. Careless operation. No person shall operate any watercraft in a careless or heedless manner so as to endanger any person or property or at a rate of speed greater than will permit him in the exercise of reasonable care to bring the watercraft to a stop within the assured clear distance ahead.
