35 IAC 14-5-5 Leave of absence due to pregnancy

Sec. 5. (a) An active member shall be given credit for leaves of absence due to pregnancy only when leave is requested pursuant to the requirements found in IC 20-28-10-5. Credit is limited to one-seventh (1/7) of the total years of service claimed for retirement purposes. (b) If the member is compensated while on leave, the statutory contributions must be maintained. (c) A member seeking credit for leave of absence due to pregnancy must provide documentary evidence demonstrating that the statutory requirements have been satisfied. (d) Unless otherwise required by law, no request for credit for leaves of absence due to pregnancy shall be accepted by the Fund and no leave shall be credited to a member's account after the first day of the month in which retirement benefit payments are scheduled to begin. (e) Unless otherwise provided by law, a leave of absence for pregnancy is not a separation from service.
