465 IAC 2-4-2 Definitions

Sec. 2. (a) As used in this rule, "adoption assistance" means the payment or payments for the maintenance of a child that are made or
committed to be made pursuant to the adoption assistance program established by the laws of a party state.
(b) As used in this rule, "adoption assistance state" means the state that is signatory to an adoption assistance agreement in a particular
case.
(c) As used in this rule, "child with special needs" has the meaning set forth in 465 IAC 4-1-22(b).
(d) As used in this rule, "department" means the department of child services established under IC 31-25-1-1.
(e) As used in this rule, "parents" means either the singular or plural of the word "parent".
(f) As used in this rule, "residence state" means the state in which the child is a resident by virtue of the residence of the adoptive
parents.
(g) As used in this rule, "state" means a state of the United States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the United
States Virgin Islands, Guam, American Samoa, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, or a territory or possession of or administered
by the United States.
