675 IAC 14-4.4-16 Section R311.7.5.1; risers

Sec. 16. Change SECTION R311.7.5.1 as follows: (1) Change the first sentence to read as follows: The riser height shall not be more than 8 1/4 inches (210 mm). (2) Add EXCEPTION 3 to SECTION R311.7.5.1 to read as follows: 3. When replacing a stairway in an existing structure, which cannot accommodate the requirements of Section R311.7.5.1. The stair riser height may be replaced utilizing dimensions that do not exceed the riser height of the original staircase.
