836 IAC 1-11-1 General certification provisions

Sec. 1. (a) The following organizations are required to obtain certification as a basic life support nontransport provider organization prior to providing first response emergency patient care that includes defibrillation: (1) Fire department as defined in IC 22-12-1-12. (2) Any provider organization required to be certified under IC 16-31. (b) The following organizations not included under subsection (a) are not required to obtain certification as a basic life support nontransport provider organization prior to providing first response emergency patient care that includes defibrillation; however, the organizations may apply to obtain certification in accordance with the provisions of this rule: (1) A law enforcement agency as defined in IC 10-11-8-2. (2) A riverboat on which lawful gambling is authorized under IC 4-33. (3) A hospital licensed under IC 16-21. (4) Other organizations approved by the commission.
