856 IAC 1-28.1-13 Drug self-administration

Sec. 13. Self-administration of drugs by patients of an institutional facility shall be permitted only if such use is specifically authorized
by the treating or ordering physician and:
(1) the patient's knowledge of self-administration has been evaluated; or
(2) the patient has received training in the proper manner of self-administration:
(A) by a pharmacist; or
(B) according to hospital policy; and
there is no risk of harm to the patient.
