Sec. 3. (a) Any person who knowingly violates IC 14-34-2-6 commits a Class A misdemeanor. (b) Any person who knowingly violates IC 14-34-2-6 may also be punished under Section 417(g) of the Surface Mining Control and Reclamation Act of 1977, Public Law 95-87. (c) IC 14-34-2-6 makes compliance with the financial interest requirements a condition of employment for employees of the department who perform any functions or duties under IC 14-34. (d) An employee who fails to file the required statement will be considered in violation of the intended employment provisions of IC 14-34-2-6 and will be subject to removal from his or her position.
