LAC 42:III.2909. Emergencies, Riverboat Only

A. A riverboat may dock at any berth other than its authorized berth in case of emergency. An "emergency" is a call to immediate action including, but not limited to: 1. any circumstance that presents a foreseeable danger to human life; 2. any circumstance declared to be an emergency by any governmental authority; or 3. any circumstance that presents an unreasonable risk of loss or damage to a riverboat, any dock, other vessel, or other property. B. Should the master of the riverboat determine and certify in writing that the weather conditions or water conditions are such that danger to the riverboat is present, the riverboat may remain docked until such time as the master determines that conditions have diminished enough to proceed or until the authorized excursion has expired.
