LAC 46:LXXXVI.1710. Management of Filed Complaints

A. Upon receipt of complaints, the committee will communicate to the complainant and LRC in writing, via certified mail marked "personal and confidential," noting its receipt of the complaint and its confirmation of the licensed status of the accused LRC. B. The committee will determine whether the complaint, if true, would violate one of more sections of the Code of Professional Ethics for Licensed Rehabilitation Counselors. If not, the complaint will not be accepted and the complainant and licensee so informed in writing via certified mail. C. If the committee determines that the complaint contains insufficient information to make a fair determination of whether the behavior alleged in the complaint would be cause for action by the committee, the committee may request further written information for the complainant or others. D. When complaints are accepted, the complainant and LRC will be so informed in writing via certified mail.
