A. The Board of Nursing, both by virtue of its legal status and its professional character, is dedicated to the belief that its purpose is to serve the people of Louisiana and to protect their health and welfare. B. The board members believe that their major responsibility is to see, in so far as possible, that those persons who practice nursing are competent and safe. C. The board members believe that sound nursing education is a prerequisite for the attainment of high standards of nursing practice. They believe that each member is obligated to demonstrate personal integrity, impartial judgment, wisdom and dedication to a high standard of service in board activities.
