LAC 46:XLV.6547. Storage of Medications

A. All medications in the possession of a registrant shall be physically stored and maintained in such location and in such manner as to reasonably secure all such medications against contamination, adulteration, deterioration, loss, accidental destruction, theft, and access or use by unauthorized persons. B. Medications which are Schedule II controlled substances shall, in addition, be stored and maintained in a metal cabinet, box, safe, vault, or other container of suitable strength and in such location as to safeguard such medication against loss or destruction by fire, flood, or other accidental causes. Such repository shall further be equipped with a secure lock so as to prevent theft of or unauthorized access to or use of such medications.
