LAC 46:XXV.1025. Hearing Officer

A. Upon docketing of an administrative complaint, if the chair will not serve as the hearing officer, the chair shall appoint a hearing officer assigned to the complaint. The name of the hearing officer appointed shall be affixed to the administrative complaint filed with the board and shall be noted on all motions and other documents filed with the board relating to the complaint. B. The hearing officer must be one of the following: 1. the chair; 2. a member of the board; 3. the general counsel; or 4. an attorney licensed in Louisiana appointed by the board. C. When the hearing officer is a member of the board, the hearing officer shall take part in deliberations and in rendering a decision after the adjudicative hearing. When the hearing officer is not a board member, the hearing officer shall provide advice and guidance to the hearing panel upon request.
