A. When an emergency admission occurs, it is the responsibility of the family to contact the CSHS Regional Office immediately. This can be done by: 1. contacting the CSHS Regional Office directly; 2. asking the physician to call; 3. asking the hospital admissions clerk to call; or 4. asking the assistance of their public health nurse in the parish of residence. B. If the admission occurs at a time when the CSHS Regional Office is closed, the family must contact the CSHS Regional Office on the first work day after the patient was admitted. If contact is not made, CSHS may not assume responsibility for the admission.
