A. Whereas R.S. 40:1141-1151 specifies minimum operator qualifications in years, these values have been converted to "points" for ease of integration with continuing education credits and substitutions between education and experience. Operator qualifications for the various levels of certification shall be determined by minimum point values as follows. Certification Level | Required Points Op-In-Training | 0 Class 1 | 1 Class 2 | 2 Class 3 | 5 Class 4 | 8 NOTE: A minimum educational requirement of a High School Diploma (or G.E.D.) is applied to ALL levels of certification. Required point values for education and experience are in addition to this minimum level of education. Point value required for Classes 1 and 2 may be from experience alone although 25 percent of this value may be acquired from education credit. No more than 75 percent of the total required points for Classes 3 or 4 may be obtained from education or experience alone.
