A. Written Plans. ICFs/MR shall have written procedures complete with instructions to be followed in the event of an internal or external disaster such as fire or other emergency actions, including: 1. specifications of evacuation routes and procedures; 2. instructions for the care of injuries and/or casualties (client and personnel) arising from such disaster; 3. procedures for the prompt transfer of records; 4. instructions regarding methods of containing fire; and 5. procedures for notification of appropriate persons. B. Employee Training. All ICF/MR employees shall be trained in disaster preparedness as part of employment orientation. The disaster preparedness training shall include orientation, ongoing training, and drills for all personnel. The purpose shall be that each employee promptly and correctly carry out his/her specific role in the event of a disaster. The facility shall periodically rehearse these procedures for disaster preparedness. The minimum requirements shall be drills once each quarter for each shift.
