LAC 51:XII.339. Protection of Suction Pipes [formerly paragraph 12:014-1]

A. All subsurface suction piping, such as that leading from detached wells or reservoirs, shall be protected against the entrance of contamination. B. [formerly paragraph 12:014-2] Valve boxes shall be provided for valves on buried suction lines. Every such valve box shall project at least 6 inches above the floor if in a room or building, and at least 12 inches above the ground if not enclosed in a building. The top of the box shall be provided with a cover with overlapping edges.
