A. Local parish and municipal authorities may designate routes for freight-carrying vehicles in their own jurisdiction. B. They may create additional regulations for state-maintained highways so long as their ordinances do not conflict with state laws and have been approved by the Department of Transportation and Development and the Department of Public Safety.
