LAC 28:LXXIX.2103. Minimum Time Requirements

A. Pre-Kindergarten/Kindergarten 1. The pre-kindergarten, and/or kindergarten elementary school grades should be planned to meet the developmental needs of young children and should be informal in nature, with teacher-directed and student-initiated activities. B. Elementary Schools 1. Nonpublic elementary schools first through eighth grades shall devote no less than 50 percent of the school day to the skill subjects: reading, language arts, and mathematics. The remainder of the school day shall be devoted to social studies, science, health and physical education, and electives such as religion, foreign languages, and visual and performing arts.
