LAC 28:LXXI.305. What Is DECA's History?

A. DECA is a non-profit organization founded in 1946; it is governed by an elected Board of Directors. Members received support and guidance from the National Advisory Board, which is comprised of the Congressional Advisory Board, made up of members of the U.S. Congress, and representatives from major corporations and business that support DECA's mission. DECA has grown from a handful of members to over 180,000 nationwide. Organized around the goals of improving education and career opportunities and of remaining on the cutting edge of educational innovation, DECA continues to grow.
