Purpose and Authority
The purpose 257 CMR 2.00 is to set forth a process for the evaluation and certification of
operators of wastewater treatment facilities in order to insure the facilities' proper management,
operation and maintenance. Authority for 257 CMR 2.00 is found in M.G.L. c. 21, §§ 34A and
34B.
