Solicitation of Reports

The Secretary of Public Safety shall solicit hate crimes reports from state, local, and campus police departments and other law enforcement agencies. This solicitationshallinformsuchdepartments and agencies of the need to report all incidents classifiable as hate crimes to the Crime Reporting Unit, together with all information requested by the Massachusetts Hate Crime Reporting Form. The solicitation shall occur at least once per year, prior to the close of reporting in preparation for publicationofthe AnnualReport, and urge that all hate crimes for the reporting period be reported as soon as possible to be included in the Annual Report
