Qualifications of Medical Director
The medical director shall be a physician who is certified, or is an active candidate for
certification, by the American Board of Internal Medicine, and who has had at least one year of
formal training in chronic renal disease patient care or at least two years of experience in such
care. In either case, a significant portion of the required time shall have been spent working in
a dialysis unit that provides maintenance dialysis to patients with chronic renal disease.
