Point of Care Testing Physicians and other healthcare providers using point of care tests for diagnosis of infectious diseases must report test results to the Department when they are indicative of an infectious disease reportable directly to the Department by laboratories (per 105 CMR 300.170), unless such point of care testing is subject to routine reflex testing by a supplementary or confirmatory testing the results of which would be reportable.
