Windows to Outdoors in New or Renovated Facilities

Within a new facility or a part of a facility constructed or renovated after the effective date of 105 CMR 451.218: (A) each inmate in the general population who is confined to a cell/room for less than ten hours per day, shall have access to natural light through an opening or window of at least three square feet between their cell and adjacent space. (B) eachinmate inthe generalpopulation who is confined to a cell/room for more than ten hours per day, shall have access to natural light by means of an opening or window at least three square feet and providing a view to the outside.
