Infant Benefits

The purpose of Infant Benefits is to provide a one-time payment for equipment needed to care for an infant. If the equipment is not available to the applicant or recipient from any other source, and if payment for the equipment is requested within the six months following the birth of the eligible infant, the following benefits must be authorized at rates set by the Department: (A) payment for a crib or mattress for a newborn infant; and (B) payment for a layette for a newborn infant.
