Introduction to Emergency Shelter Services

Emergency Shelter is a service which provides short-term residential placement for women, children, families, and adolescents who are in crisis because they have suffered or are at substantial risk of suffering serious physical or emotional injury as a result of abuse, neglect or abandonment; or who are, due to financial constraints, unable to obtain housing. Services to Women in Transition is a program of services which offers safety, protection, and support to women (with or without children) who have been threatened with or have experienced harassment, intimidation, or assault by someone within their household.
