Medical Leave of Absence Introduction

(A) MassHealth pays a medical respite provider to reserve a bed for up to 15 calendar days for each member’s medical respite Service Period for a member who is on a medical leave of absence (MLOA) from the medical respite setting, if all the conditions of 130 CMR 458.415: Medical Leave of Absence Introduction through 130 CMR 458.418: Medical Leave of Absence: Failure to Readmit are met. (B) Following a MLOA of up to 15 calendar days, the medical respite provider must allow the member to return to the same medical respite service location unless the member: (1) no longer requires the services provided by the medical respite provider; or (2) no longer meets the criteria in 130 CMR 458.403(A); or (3) has reached the end of their medical respite Service Period.
