Electronic payment of corporate amendment and expansion applications
filing fees
______________________________________________________________________________
This Bulletin is applicable to any insurer that is authorized to submit a Uniform Certificate of
Authority Application (UCAA) via the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC)
UCAA portal for corporate amendment and expansion application filings.
Effective July 6, 2022, the Maryland Insurance Administration (MIA) will accept payment of
corporate amendment and expansion application filing fees electronically through OPTins.
OPTins, a product of the NAIC, offers efficient and seamless electronic payment submission. In
order to use OPTins, you must register for a new account. It is important to register early because
it takes 7-10 business days for a newly established account to be available for use. Easy to follow
instructions are available at www.optins.org. Existing users of OPTins do not need to re-register.
If you have any questions regarding how to set up a new account, please contact the OPTins
Marketing Team at optinsmktg@naic.org or 816-783-8787.
Once registered and set up, you will be able to log in and submit your payment online.
The MIA will continue to accept payments by paper check for those who do not wish to use
OPTins.
