Solicitation for comments on a new uninsured / underinsured motorist coverage selection form

BULLETIN 23-10 Date: July 11, 2023 To: All Property & Casualty insurers writing private passenger motor vehicle liability insurance in Maryland; All Property & Casualty insurance producers authorized to sell private passenger motor vehicle liability insurance in Maryland; and, all other interested parties Re: Solicitation for comments on a new uninsured / underinsured motorist coverage selection form The Maryland Insurance Administration is soliciting comments from our licensees and all stakeholders concerning our promulgation of a new selection form for uninsured / underinsured motorist (UM/UIM) coverage. The new form will be required for all new private passenger automobile quotes, binders and policies issued or delivered in the State on or after July 1, 2024. The new form will not be used for renewals of policies already in effect as of June 30, 2024.
